Questioning is a skill. It is one of the language tools frequently used.
When do we use questions?
Generally, questions are a very important part of interviews.
An interview is a purposeful, interpersonal communication between two individuals.
As an individual you will have to face two major types of interviews - Job and Data collection.
There are two kinds of questions which are part of interviews.
1. Open Ended Questions : Where eleboration is expected
Example : How did you enjoy your school days?
2. Direct Questions : Which demand specific information
Example : What is your father's name?
Questions should be always be direct, social, professional and not very personal.
How to prepare Interview Questions
Use 'WH' - Who, Why, What, Where,Which, Whose, Whom, How.
Use a 'Question mark' at the end of the question.
Be clear and concise in asking questions.
Ask logical questions.
Questions should be information seeking.
Use proper tense.
The questions must reflect messages of hardships.
Use short questions.
Only the interview questions must be written (about 8 questions).
These questions should be polite; they should ask for information.
The questions should be numbered and written one below the other.
The simpler questions should come first.
Imagine that you are actually interviewing the person and then write the questions.
