A COLD SNOWY MORNING

 

     We spent our Diwali vacation this year at Gulmarg. यावर्षी आम्ही दिवाळीची सुट्टी गुलमुर्ग येथे घालवली. We stayed there for 4 days. आम्ही चार दिवस तिथे राहिलो. My father rented a villa. माझ्या वडिलांनी एक व्हिला भाड्याने घेतली. I usually get up early in the morning. मी सहसा सकाळी लवकर उठतो. Chirping of birds woke me up. पक्ष्यांच्या किलबिलाटाने मला जाग आली. I wanted to see snowfall in Gulmarg. मला गुलमुर्ग मधली बर्फवृष्टी पहायची होती. So I insisted my parents to go there. त्यामुळे मी माझ्या आई-वडिलांना तिथे जाण्याचा आग्रह धरला. 

     It was all foggy outside and there was hardly any trace of the sun. बाहेर सर्व धुके होते आणि सूर्याचा काहीच मागमूस दिसत नव्हता. After having a quick wash and breakfast, we went out of the villa. घाईघाईने आंघोळ करून नाश्ता करून आम्ही व्हिलाच्या बाहेर पडलो. My younger brother was very excited. माझा धाकटा भाऊ खूप उत्साही होता.

     I was thrilled to see the white snow for the first time in my life. आयुष्यात पहिल्यांदाच पांढरा शुभ्र बर्फ पाहून मी रोमांचित झालो. It was snow all around. आजूबाजूला बर्फ पडला होता. Everything including the roofs of houses, trees, the mountain peaks and the streets was covered and painted white with snowfall. घरांची छप्परे, झाडे, पर्वत शिखरे आणि रस्ते, सर्वकाही झाकलेले होते आणि सफेद बर्फवृष्टीने रंगवलेले होते. We started running and jumping in excitement. आम्ही उत्साहात धावू लागलो आणि उड्या मारू लागलो. I scooped up snow, made balls and started playing with them, throwing at my brother. मी बर्फ काढुन त्याचे गोळे बनवले आणि माझ्या भावावर फेकून त्यांच्याशी खेळू लागलो. I made a painting of the scenery on a drawing paper. मी ड्रॉईंग पेपरवर निसर्गरम्य चित्र काढले.

     Around 10 am, the fog started to clear. सकाळी दहाच्या सुमारास धुके हटण्यास सुरुवात झाली. People who were shivering with cold welcomed the sun. थंडीने थरथरणाऱ्या लोकांनी सूर्याचे स्वागत केले. I didn't like it very much as the snow started to melt. बर्फ वितळू लागल्याने मला ते फारसे आवडले नाही. Snowfall was visible only on the distant hills. बर्फवृष्टी फक्त दूरच्या टेकड्यांवरच दिसत होती. We sat in the garden for a while. आम्ही थोडावेळ बागेत बसलो. It was time to return to the villa. व्हिलाला परतायची वेळ झाली. We had coffee and hot piping parathas at a canteen nearby. आम्ही जवळच्याच कॅन्टीनमध्ये कॉफी आणि गरमागरम पराठे खाल्ले.

     It was the most lovely winter morning I had experienced. मी अनुभवलेली हि सर्वात सुंदर सकाळ होती.
