The Phantom Hitchhiker
On a foggy night, a kind-hearted man named Purv was driving home when he saw a young woman standing by the roadside, drenched from the rain. Feeling pity, he stopped and offered her a ride. She climbed into the back seat, thanked him softly, and gave him an address. As they drove, Purv noticed she was unusually silent, staring out the window.When they arrived at the address, Purv turned to tell her they had reached, but the back seat was empty. Puzzled, he knocked on the door of the house. An elderly woman answered, and Purv explained he had given a ride to a young woman. The old woman's eyes filled with tears as she said, "That was my daughter. She died in an accident on this road ten years ago."
Shocked and disbelieving, Purv looked back at his car, but the seat was still wet from the rainwater. He realized he had encountered the phantom hitchhiker, a spirit reliving her final journey. From then on, every time he drove past that spot, Purv would whisper a prayer for the restless soul he had once helped.
