QUESTION TAG?

A question tag is a short addition to an assertive or imperative sentence, asking for confirmation or agreement.

You form a question tag by using the same auxiliary verb or the correct form of 'to be' as in the statement followed by a personal pronoun.

The pronoun refers to the subject of the statement.

Generally, when an assertive sentence is in the affirmative form, the question tag is Negative.

Similarly, a negative assertive sentence is in the affirmative form, the question tag is Negative.

Similarly, a negative assertive sentence will have an affirmative question tag.

Statements containing words such as neither, no one, none, scarcely, nobody, hardly, seldom are treated as negative statements.

When the Subject of the statement is anyone, anybody, no one, nobody, none, neither, everybody, everyone, someone, somebody, we use the pronoun 'they'.

When supplying a question tag to any kind of sentense -

*Rewrite the given sentence.

*Put a comma before the tag.

*Write the question tag.

*End the sentence with a question mark(?)
