A VISIT TO A FAIR | जत्रेला भेट

     Every year in December, a big fair is held at Jamsande, in honour of Goddess Dirbadevi. दरवर्षी डिसेंबर महिन्यात जामसंडे येथे दिर्बादेवीच्या सन्मानार्थ मोठी यात्रा भरते. Last December, I went there to have the darshan of the Goddess. गेल्या डिसेंबरमध्ये मी देवीच्या दर्शनासाठी तिथे गेलो होतो. My parents were with me. माझे आई-वडील माझ्यासोबत होते.

     There were thousands of people at the fair. जत्रेत हजारो लोक होते. They came not only from the surrounding villages but also from distant villages. ते फक्त आजूबाजूच्या गावातूनच नाही तर दूरच्या गावांतूनही आले होते. They came in buses, trucks and cars. ते बस, ट्रक आणि कारमधून आले. I found that hundreds of them had come on foot also. त्यातही शेकडो पायी आल्याचे मला दिसले.

     There were dozens of stalls selling a wide variety of things, such as toys, sweets, cloth, readymade dresses, pots, footwear, pots and pans, cutlery, ropes and bells, caps, baskets and so on. खेळणी, मिठाई, कापड, तयार कपडे, भांडी, पादत्राणे, भांडी आणि भांडी, कटलरी, दोरी आणि घंटा, टोप्या, टोपल्या आणि अशा विविध प्रकारच्या वस्तू विकणारे डझनभर स्टॉल्स होते.  The stalls were arranged in neat rows. स्टॉल नीटनेटके रांगेत लावलेले होते. Besides the stalls, there were hawkers crying in another way. स्टॉल्सशिवाय, फेरीवाले आणखी  वेगळे ओरडत होते.

     A merry-go-round and a giant-wheel were attracting not only children but also elderly people as well. एक आनंददायी फेरी आणि एक आकाश पाळणा केवळ लहान मुलांनाच नाही तर वृद्धांनाही आकर्षित करत होते. A juggler was amusing large crowds in one corner. एका कोपर्‍यात एक बाजीगर मोठ्या गर्दीचे मनोरंजन करत होता.

     I entered the temple of Goddess Dirbadevi. मी दिर्बादेवीच्या मंदिरात प्रवेश केला. It was beautifully decorated with gardlands of flowers and flags. फुलांच्या माळा, पताका यांची सुंदर सजावट केली होती. I stood with folded hands before the grand idol and prostrated myself before the Goddess praying for her blessings. मी भव्य मूर्तीसमोर हात जोडून उभा राहिलो आणि देवीला साष्टांग नमस्कार केला. I performed the religious rites for which I had gone there. ज्या धार्मिक विधींसाठी मी तिथे गेलो होतो ते मी पार पाडले.

     Then I visited some stalls and bought a nice basket, a purse and bangles for my mother. मग मी काही स्टॉल्सला भेट दिली आणि माझ्या आईसाठी एक छानशी टोपली, एक पर्स आणि बांगड्या विकत घेतल्या. I bought rings for me. मी माझ्यासाठी अंगठ्या विकत घेतल्या. I was greatly amused. मला खूप मजा आली. I enjoyed my visit to the fair a lot. मी जत्रेला भेट देऊन खूप आनंद घेतला. We returned home late. आम्ही उशिरा घरी परतलो.
