πAn imperative Sentence is the one that gives some instructions.
πIt may be in the nature of a Command, a Request, a Proposal or a piece of Advice.
πThe Present Tense form of the action word is used for giving instructions.
1. Stand properly. (Command)
2. Bring me a glass of milk. (Request)
3. Obey your elders. (Advice/Order)
4. Let me decorate this wall this way. (Proposal)
πAn imperative Sentence usually does not have a Subject. The Subject 'You' is understood. The sentence begins with the base verb.
1. (You) Stir it well.
2. (You) Open the door.
πInstructions in the negative are given by using 'Don't' before the action word.
1. Don't smoke here.
2. Don't go with him.
πImperative sentences can also begin with 'Let's Or 'Let's not'
1. Let's have a cup of tea. (Affirmative)
2. Let's not make a noise. (Negative)
πChanging imperative sentences to Assertive sentences or Vice Versaπ
πYou can change an imperative sentence into an Assertive Sentences by putting in a subject and a modal auxiliary that will show the mood of the sentence.
1. Bring the book tomorrow. (Imperative)
You should bring the book tomorrow. (Assertive)
πYou can change some Assertive Sentences into Imperative Sentences by removing the Subject and the Modal Auxiliary and beginning the sentence with the base verb.
1. You can take all chocolates you want. (Assertive)
Take all chocolates you want. (Imperative)
2. You can attend her birthday party. (Assertive)
Attend her birthday party. (Imperative)

Imperative Sentences:
- Please close the door when you leave.
- Turn off the lights before going to bed.
- Complete your homework before dinner.
- Send me the report by tomorrow morning.
- Don't forget to lock the gate when you go out.
Assertive Sentences:
- I will finish the project before the deadline.
- She is a talented musician.
- The company achieved record sales last quarter.
- We are planning to renovate the kitchen next month.
- He has been studying diligently for the upcoming exams.
