Dear Jeevak,
I was quite upset when I learned about your wild and unruly behavior in and around the premises of your college. My son, this has pained your father and me a great deal. You see – it was not easy for us to see you going away to a place where we could have very little contact with you. We, your father and I, hoped that the college would mold you into a noble human being. The reports we have received, however, are to the contrary.
Son, a great writer once said, “Manners are the ornament of action and there is a way of speaking a kind word, or of doing a kind thing, which generally enhances their value.” You may not fully understand the meaning of this quote now but what it implies is that a well-mannered person is adored by everyone. Remember, if you are good and kind to others, you will give a favorable impression not only of yourself but of your family as well. I do not wish to preach but want you to know that we, your parents, would be very pleased if people spoke well of you. All our love and concern is with you.
