A fisherman earns his living by fishing. मच्छीमार मासेमारी करून आपला उदरनिर्वाह करतो. His fishing tackle consists of fishing-rod line, hooks, fishing nets, bait, baskets, etc. त्याच्या फिशिंग साधनांमध्ये फिशिंग-रॉड लाइन, हुक, फिशिंग नेट, आमिष, टोपल्या इत्यादींचा समावेश असतो. He is active from dawn to dusk. तो पहाटेपासून संध्याकाळपर्यंत सक्रिय असतो. He puts the fishing- tackle in his boat and sails out to his fishing area. तो त्याच्या बोटीत मासेमारी करण्याची साधने ठेवतो आणि त्याच्या मासेमारीच्या ठिकाणी निघतो. There, he casts his net into the sea. तेथे तो आपले जाळे समुद्रात टाकतो.
Then begins his long wait. मग त्याची दीर्घ प्रतीक्षा सुरू होते. He knows when the fish rises to nibble at the bait and are caught in the net. मासे केव्हा आमिषाला बळी पडतात आणि जाळ्यात कधी अडकतात हे त्याला माहीत आहे. However, he is not disheartened when he sees his net empty. पण त्याचे रिकामे जाळे पाहून तो निराश होत नाही. He tries again and again until he succeeds. तो यशस्वी होईपर्यंत पुन्हा पुन्हा प्रयत्न करतो.
When he returns with fish to the shore, his family members help him. जेव्हा तो मासे घेऊन किनाऱ्यावर परततो तेव्हा त्याचे कुटुंबीय त्याला मदत करतात. His wife takes the fish baskets to the fish market. त्याची पत्नी मासळीच्या टोपल्या मासळी बाजारात घेऊन जाते. While she is selling the fish in the market, the fisherman is busy mending his nets or his boats. ती बाजारात मासे विकत असताना, मच्छीमार आपली जाळी किंवा बोटी दुरुस्त करण्यात व्यस्त असतो.
His life is is full of difficulties and perils. त्याचे जीवन समस्यांनी आणि संकटांनी भरलेले आहे. A storm may suddenly break out endangering the fisherman's life. अचानक वादळ येऊन मच्छिमाराच्या जीवाला धोका निर्माण होऊ शकतो. However, he faces storms and hardships boldly and lives happily. तरीही तो वादळ आणि संकटांचा धैर्याने सामना करतो आणि आनंदाने जगतो.
