VOCATIVE CASE

Examine the following sentence-

Sit there, Nisha.

Here Nisha is the name of the person spoken to or addressed.

It is, therefore, said to be in the Vocative Case.

The Vocative Case is also called the Nominative of Address.

Examples :

1. Come on, girls.

2. Come into the garden, Triya. 

3. My boy, you are mistaken.
