The Bamboo Tree
In the far east, they plant a tree called the Chinese bamboo. During the first four years, the tree shows no growth above the soil. Despite daily watering and care, the bamboo doesn’t seem to be growing. However, in the fifth year, something amazing happens. The bamboo tree grows up to 90 feet tall in just six weeks! What was happening all those years? It was developing a root system strong enough to support its potential for outward growth in the fifth year and beyond. Had the tree not developed a strong unseen foundation, it could not have sustained its life as it grew.
Moral: Like the bamboo tree, our dreams and goals need time to grow and develop roots before they can flourish. Patience and persistence are crucial for long-term success.
