A Picnic to the Red Fort

Last Sunday, our school arranged a picnic to the Red Fort in Delhi. We were very excited because the Red Fort is one of the most famous historical monuments of India. We started our journey early in the morning by bus. On the way, we sang songs and played games.
When we reached the Red Fort, I was amazed to see its huge red sandstone walls. Our teacher told us about its history and how Emperor Shah Jahan built it. We entered through the Lahore Gate and saw beautiful gardens, Diwan-i-Aam, and Diwan-i-Khas. The carvings and designs on the walls were very attractive.
We had our lunch in the garden area, shared snacks, and clicked many photos. After lunch, we walked around the fort and enjoyed the view from the top. I also saw the place where the Prime Minister of India gives the Independence Day speech.
It was both an enjoyable and educational picnic. I learned a lot about our history and felt proud of India’s rich heritage. This picnic to the Red Fort will always remain a memorable experience for me.
