How to Use "Already" in Sentences | With Examples

Already is an adverb used to show that an action has happened before now or sooner than expected. It is most commonly used in Present Perfect Tense, but can also appear in Simple Present and Simple Past Tense to indicate early completion.

🔮Structure – Present Perfect

Subject + has/have + already + past participle (V3) + object

• Formal placement: Between has/have and the main verb

• Informal placement: At the end of the sentence

Formal 
• She has already finished her homework.
• तिने आधीच आपला गृहपाठ पूर्ण केला आहे.

Informal

• She has finished her homework already.

• तिने आपला गृहपाठ आधीच पूर्ण केला आहे.

Formal 
• I have already eaten lunch.

• They have already left for school.

• He has already seen this movie.

• Mostly used in positive sentences.

• Indicates the action is completed earlier than expected.

• With Present Perfect, “already” usually goes between has/have and the main verb.

• In informal speech, “already” can come at the end of the sentence.
