How to Use Recently
Recently means a short time ago / not long ago.It is commonly used with the Present Perfect Tense and the Past Simple Tense.
📍 Placement of Recently in Sentences with Explanation
1. At the end of the sentence
I watched that movie recently.
Explanation: Recently is at the end to show the action of watching the movie happened not long ago.
2. Before the main verb (when the verb is not “to be”)
I have recently finished my project.
Explanation: Recently comes before the main verb finished to highlight that the action happened in the near past.
3. After the verb “to be” (is, am, are, was, were)
She is very busy recently.
Explanation: With be verbs, recently usually follows them. It shows her state of being busy in the near past until now.
