AT THE CINEMA THEATRE

 

       Once my sister and I went to a cinema theatre to see a movie. एकदा मी आणि माझी बहीण सिनेमा पाहायला सिनेमागृहात गेलो होतो.  It was a very famous movie. तो खूप प्रसिद्ध चित्रपट होता.  There was a big rush for tickets. तिकिटांसाठी मोठी गर्दी झाली होती.  We wanted balcony tickets so we stood in the queue for balcony tickets.  आम्हाला बाल्कनीची तिकिटे हवी होती म्हणून आम्ही बाल्कनीच्या तिकिटासाठी रांगेत  उभे राहिलो.  A poor old beggar was begging for money.  एक गरीब म्हातारा भिकारी पैसे मागत होता.  He was very weak and pale. तो खूप अशक्त आणि निस्तेज होता.  His condition was very pitiful but only few people gave him money.  त्याची अवस्था अतिशय दयनीय होती पण मोजक्याच लोकांनी त्याला पैसे दिले.

     We gave the beggar a ten rupee note out of pity.  आम्ही त्या भिकाऱ्याला दया दाखवून दहा रुपयांची नोट दिली.  The beggar was happy.  भिकारी खुश झाला.  He gave us a lot of blessings and hurriedly went away.  खूप आशीर्वाद देऊन तो घाईघाईने निघून गेला. 'He must be very hungry', I thought.  'त्याला खूप भूक लागली असेल', मी विचार केला.  

     We bought balcony tickets and took our seats.  आम्ही बाल्कनीची तिकिटे घेतली आणि आमची जागा घेतली.  Soon we began to enjoy the film.  लवकरच आम्ही चित्रपटाचा आनंद घेऊ लागलो. We were so engrossed in the movie that we were disappointed when the interval came.  आम्ही चित्रपटात इतके तल्लीन झालो होतो की इंटरव्हल आल्यावर आम्ही निराश झालो होतो.  The lights were on.  दिवे लागले होते.  I looked around me and I was shocked when I saw the same beggar sitting in a seat behind us.  मी आजूबाजूला पाहिलं आणि तोच भिकारी आमच्या मागच्या सीटवर बसलेला दिसल्यावर मला धक्काच बसला.
