THE DAY UNEXPECTED GUESTS ARRIVED

     Last Sunday we had decided to go to Phoenix Mall at Kurla for shopping and Barbeque feast. गेल्या रविवारी आम्ही कुर्ला येथील फिनिक्स मॉलमध्ये खरेदी आणि बार्बेक्यू मेजवानीसाठी जायचे ठरवले होते. Suddenly, at about 10 a.m. the doorbell rang and there was Raj uncle and Navya aunty and their kids at the door. अचानक सकाळी 10 च्या सुमारास दारावरची बेल वाजली आणि दारात राज काका आणि नव्या काकी आणि त्यांची मुले होती. He didn't inform dad that they were coming. त्यांनी वडिलांना ते येत असल्याचे कळवले नाही. Raj uncle resides at Bangalore. राज काका बंगलोर येथे राहतात. He had come that day to attend his friend's birthday party. त्या दिवशी ते त्यांच्या मित्राच्या वाढदिवसाच्या पार्टीत सहभागी होण्यासाठी आले होते. The birthday party was at 6 p.m. वाढदिवसाची पार्टी संध्याकाळी ६ वाजता होती.

     Naturally, our plan was cancelled. साहजिकच आमचा प्लॅन रद्द झाला. We knew that. ते आम्हाला माहीत होते. And mummy headed for the kitchen to cook for seven people. आणि मम्मी सात लोकांसाठी स्वयंपाक करण्यासाठी स्वयंपाकघरात गेली. Somehow we consoled ourselves about not going to Phoenix Mall and looked forward to having a good time in the company of jolly Raj uncle and his family. कसे तरी आम्ही फिनिक्स मॉलमध्ये न जाण्याबद्दल स्वतःचे सांत्वन केले आणि हसमुख राज काका आणि त्यांच्या कुटुंबाच्या सहवासात चांगला वेळ घालवण्याची अपेक्षा केली.

       After answering Raj uncle's questions regarding my school, I went into the kitchen to help my Mummy. माझ्या शाळेबद्दल राज काकांच्या प्रश्नांची उत्तरे दिल्यानंतर मी माझ्या मम्मीला मदत करण्यासाठी स्वयंपाकघरात गेले. After lunch they left about 3.30 p.m. दुपारचे जेवण करून ते दुपारी ३.३० च्या सुमारास निघाले. Mummy was exhausted, and so were we. मम्मी दमली होती आणि आम्हीही थकलो होतो. All of us turned in for a good afternoon nap. आम्ही सर्वजण दुपारची चांगली झोप घेण्यासाठी आत वळलो. At about 4.30 p.m. just we were getting ready for tea and a short walk to Cyprus garden. दुपारी 4.30 च्या सुमारास आम्ही चहासाठी आणि सायप्रस बागेत थोडे चालत जाण्यासाठी तयार झालो होतो. The doorbell rang again and there at our doorstep were Mummy's friends, Mrs Kirve and Mrs Tivle. दारावरची बेल पुन्हा वाजली आणि तिथे आमच्या दारात मम्मीच्या मैत्रिणी सौ किर्वे आणि सौ तिवले होत्या. They had dropped in for a visit. त्या भेटीसाठी आल्या होत्या. As soon as I saw them, I smiled as pleasantly as I could. त्यांना पाहताच मी जमेल तितके आनंदाने हसले. The rest of the evening passed in entertaining them. उरलेली संध्याकाळ त्यांच्या मनोरंजनातच गेली.

     These unexpected guests arrived suddenly and spoiled our entire day's  programme. हे अनपेक्षित पाहुणे अचानक आले आणि आमचा दिवसभराचा कार्यक्रम बिघडला.
