When two words are used together to do the work of a noun or an Adjective, they are known as COMPOUND WORDS. जेव्हा नाम किंवा विशेषण म्हणुन उपयोग करण्यासाठी दोन शब्द एकत्र वापरले जातात, तेव्हा त्यांना COMPOUND WORDS(सामासिक/संयुक्त शब्द) असे म्हणतात.A new meaningful word formed by joining two or more such words is called Compound words. असे दोन किंवा अधिक शब्द जोडून तयार झालेल्या नवीन अर्थपूर्ण शब्दाला सामासिक/संयुक्त शब्द असे म्हणतात.
HOW TO FORM COMPOUND WORDS :-
Compound words can be formed by joining two words.
Sometimes, the two words are separate, sometimes they are treated as one.
In some cases, we may need to put a hypen (-) between the two words.
Generally, if the Compound word is one which is used very often, then the two words are treated as one.
Examples :-
1. feed + back = feedback
2. tea + set = tea set
3. grand + father = grandfather
4. washing + machine = washing machine
5. break + fast = breakfast
6. long + jump = long jump
7. seat + belt = seat belt
8. walking + stick = walking stick
9. foot + ball = football
10. every + thing = everything
11. every + day = everyday
12. bath + room = bathroom
13. birth + day = birthday
14. band + aid = band-aid
