My school is quite far from my house. I cannot walk to school, like many of my friends do. I travel everyday by bus to school. It is a journey of about 30 minutes. Sometimes I get a seat, sometimes I don't. The bus conductor is always Mrs Pote. She is a nice, friendly person and knows me very well. I carry a student's pass and she never asks if I have a ticket.
The bus takes the same route everyday. I know the landmarks along the route. I have an apple while travelling by the bus. Sometimes interesting people board the bus. Once a paan-chewing man got into a long fight with the bus conductor. He had to be forcibly removed from the bus.
The bus runs generally on time and so I am never late to school. Once there was a bus strike in Mumbai and I couldn't go to school at all. I look forward to my journey to school by bus every day.
