MY LAST DAY AT SCHOOL

 

     This year, the 23rd of February was the last day of our school life. यावर्षी २३ फेब्रुवारी हा आमच्या शालेय जीवनाचा शेवटचा दिवस होता. On this day we, the students of 10th standard, were given a send-off by the school. या दिवशी आम्हा इयत्ता १० वीच्या विद्यार्थ्यांंना शाळेने निरोप दिला. All of us arrived in school at 9 a.m. and assembled in school’s assembly hall. आम्ही सर्वजण सकाळी ९ वाजता शाळेत आलो आणि शाळेच्या सभागृहात जमलो. Girls wore beautiful sarees. मुलींनी सुंदर साड्या नेसल्या होत्या.

     The Principal and teachers were seated on a podium. प्राचार्य आणि शिक्षक मंचकावर बसले होते. Some of our senior teachers addressed us. आमच्या काही ज्येष्ठ शिक्षकांनी आम्हाला संबोधित केले. They advised us to study hard and become ideal citizens. त्यांनी खूप अभ्यास करून आदर्श नागरिक बनण्याचा सल्ला दिला. The Principal wished us every success at the SSC examination. मुख्याध्यापकांनी आम्हाला दहावीच्या परीक्षेतील यशासाठी शुभेच्छा दिल्या. She also appealed us never to forget our school and to keep visiting it regularly. त्यांनी आम्हाला आपल्या शाळेला कधीही विसरू नका आणि सतत भेट देत राहण्याचे आवाहन केले. Several students also thanked the teachers for all their help and guidance. शिक्षकांनी केलेल्या सर्व मदतीबद्दल आणि मार्गदर्शनासाठी अनेक विद्यार्थ्यांनी त्यांचे आभार मानले. Voices of many students who spoke were choked with emotion. बोलणाऱ्या बहुतेक विद्यार्थ्यांचे आवाज भावनेने दबले होते.

     After the farewell function, light refreshments were served. निरोप समारंभानंतर हलका अल्पाहार देण्यात आला. We were smiling but had tears in our eyes. आम्ही हसत होतो, पण आमच्या डोळ्यात अश्रू होते. We were heartbroken that we would be leaving our school forever. आम्ही आमची शाळा कायमची सोडणार आहोत याची खंत होती.
