A major fire broke out in the 'D' wing of Rameshwar colony on the evening of 17th October. 17 ऑक्टोबर रोजी सायंकाळी रामेश्वर कॉलनीतील 'डी' विंगमध्ये भीषण आग लागली होती. Rameshwar is a colony of 12-storeyed buildings built very close to each other. रामेश्वर ही एकमेकाच्या अगदी जवळ बांधलेली बारा मजली इमारतींची वसाहत आहे. Lanes inside the compound are very narrow, and there is no place for parking. कंपाऊंडच्या आत अतिशय अरुंद गल्ल्या आहेत आणि पार्किंगसाठी जागा नाही. The fire broke out because of an electric short circuit in the meter room of 'D' wing. 'डी' विंगच्या मीटर रूममध्ये इलेक्ट्रिक शॉर्ट सर्किटमुळे आग लागली. Due to very hot climate, a few sparks developed into a fire and it spread quickly. वातावरण खूप उष्ण असल्याने काही ठिणग्या आगीच्या रूपात विकसित झाल्या आणि ती वेगाने पसरली.
One side of the 'D' building was badly affected. 'डी' इमारतीच्या एका बाजूची दुरवस्था झाली. The shops on the ground floor and the two flats on the first floor were gutted in the fire. या आगीत तळमजल्यावरील दुकाने आणि पहिल्या मजल्यावरील दोन फ्लॅट जळून खाक झाले. There was a loss of property but thankfully no loss of life. मालमत्तेचे नुकसान झाले, परंतु सुदैवाने कोणतीही जीवितहानी झाली नाही. People rushed to the spot. लोकांनी घटनास्थळी धाव घेतली. The fire brigade was called. अग्निशमन दलाला पाचारण करण्यात आले. It arrived within half an hour. अर्ध्या तासात ती आली. The residents of the buildings were quickly evacuated. इमारतींमधील रहिवाशांना तातडीने बाहेर काढण्यात आले. The people have been warned. जनतेला इशारा दिला गेला आहे. They have been told to keep the fire extinguishers ready. त्यांना अग्निशमन यंत्रणा सज्ज ठेवण्यास सांगण्यात आले.
