ADVERB CLAUSE OF TIME वेळ दर्शविणारे क्रियाविशेषण उपवाक्य

The subordinate clause that gives answer to the question when is termed as Adverb Clause of Time.

It is introduced by when, whenever, while, till, until, as soon as, no sooner...than, Hardly...when, as long as, before, after, since.

Examples:

1. I will send you when your mother comes. 

जेव्हा तुझी आई येईल तेव्हा मी तुला पाठवेन. 

Main clause - I will send you

when your mother comes - Adverb Clause of Time modifies the verb send in Main Clause

2. Don't disturb me while I am talking with him.

 त्याच्याबरोबर बोलत असताना मला व्यत्यय आणू नकोस. 

Main Clause - Don't disturb me

while I am talking with him - Adverb Clause of Time modifies the verb disturb in Main Clause

3. Harsha waited for me till I returned. 

मी परत येईपर्यंत हर्षाने माझी वाट पाहिली. 

Main Clause - Harsha waited for me

till I returned - Adverb Clause of Time modifies the verb waited in Main Clause

4. As soon as I find the time, I read the books.

मला वेळ मिळता क्षणीच मी पुस्तके वाचते. 

Main Clause - I read the books

Adverb Clause of Time modifies the verb read in Main Clause

5. As Kavya went out, he asked me questions. 

जेव्हा काव्या बाहेर पडली तेव्हा त्याने मला प्रश्न विचारले. 

Main Clause - he asked me question

As Kavya went out - Adverb Clause of Time modifies the verb went in Main Clause

6. Nema cooked food after she had returned home. 

घरी परत आल्यानंतर नेमाने जेवण बनवले. 

Main clause - Nima cooked food

after she had returned home - Adverb Clause of Time modifies the verb cooked in Main Clause

7. Hemal stole my pencil when I was out of the class.

मी जेव्हा वर्गाच्या बाहेर होते तेव्हा हेमलने माझी पेन्सिल चोरली. 

Main clause - Hemal stole my pencil

when I was out of the class - Adverb Clause of Time modifies the verb stole in Main Clause

8. I took my tiffin before I went out of the house. 

घरातून बाहेर जाण्यापूर्वी मी माझा टीफिन घेतला. 

Main clause - I took my tiffin

before I went out of the house - Adverb Clause of Time modifies the verb took in Main Clause

9. I reached the station after the train had left. 

ट्रेन गेल्यानंतर मी स्टेशनवर पोहोचले. 

Main clause - I reached the station

after the train had left - Adverb Clause of Time modifies the verb reached  in Main Clause

10. I do my homework when my father comes.

माझे बाबा जेव्हा येतात तेव्हा मी गृहपाठ करते. 

Main clause - I do my homework

when my father comes - Adverb Clause of Time modifies the verb do in Main Clause
