REVENGE

A keeper took his elephant to a river for a wash everyday. There was a tailor's shop on the way. The elephant always stopped at this shop. The tailor used to give it fig-leaves to eat.

One day the tailor wanted to play a trick on the elephant. He gave it a big bunch of fig-leaves. But he kept a hard stone hidden in that bunch.

The elephant felt the stone. It threw the leaves and the stone away. But it decided to take revenge on the cruel tailor. It quietly went to the river. After the wash the elephant stored up muddy water in its trunk and started on its return journey.

The tailor was standing at his door to laugh and make fun of the elephant. Just then it shot a powerful jet of dirty water at the tailor. This gave great pain to the tailor. He was all wet. His clothes and the clothes in his shop were all spoiled. He became the laughing-stock of all. After this incident, he never played such dirty and cruel tricks again.
