It was late in the evening. A traveller was making his way along a country road. He was tired and weary. He looked about for shelter and saw a distant light. So he bent his steps towards it.
Soon he came to the main room of an inn. There was a large crowd round the fire. The traveller stood puzzled. He glanced about for a good seat but found none. No one seemed to care for him, so he began to think. And soon a fine idea struck him.
Suddenly he cried out, "Inn-keeper, my horse is waiting outside for his meal. Take the biggest fish you have for him."
People turned and stared at him. What a strange horse it must be to eat fish! They all rushed to have a look at the strange fish-eating horse.
The traveller made a dash for the best seat by the fire. He occupied it and made himself quite comfortable. His trick had worked well.
Soon the people came back and saw the traveller sitting comfortably near the fire. They realized that they had been fooled by the clever traveller.
