Dear granny,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I want to express my sincerest apologies for not being able to attend our cousin's wedding. It truly pains me to miss such a significant family event, and I understand how much it means to all of us to come together and celebrate such a joyous occasion. I wanted so much to attend Keval Dada's wedding, but I'm afraid I won't be able to.
My Preliminary Examination will begin tomorrow. It will end on the 10 February but after that, I will have to follow a strict regimen of studies. The school has arranged lectures of some expert educationists. They will guide us on how to answers for SSC question papers. We shall also be preparing for practicals. Gomaste teacher has promised to coach me and ten of my classmates in Mathematics and Science. I can't aford to miss a single day.
Convey my deep regrets to Keval Dada. I know he will be terribly disappointed. I shall write to him as well.
It would be great if you could give a separate wedding present to him on my behalf. Maybe that will make him feel better. Do explain to him, and tell him that I shall visit him immediately after my examinations are over.
