THE PIRATE AND THE BELL समुद्री डाकू आणि घंटा

     

     There was a pirate. एक समुद्री डाकू होता. He was a very cruel man. तो एक खूप क्रूर माणूस होता. He used to rob ships and often kill their sailors and passengers. तो जहाजे लुटायचा आणि अनेकदा त्यांच्या खलाशांना आणि प्रवाशांना मारायचा. As his ship was sailing along one day, he heard the ringing of a bell. एके दिवशी त्याचे जहाज पुढे जात असताना त्याला घंटा वाजण्याचा आवाज आला. When he looked out, he saw a large bell. त्याने बाहेर पाहिले तर त्याला एक मोठी घंटा दिसली. It was tied to a rock with a rope. ती एका दगडाला दोरीने बांधली होती. It was meant to warn ships off the dangerous rock. ती जहाजांना धोकादायक खडकावरून सावध करण्यासाठी होती. The pirate did not like this. चोरट्याला हे आवडले नाही. He asked his men to cut the rope. त्याने आपल्या माणसांना दोरी कापण्यास सांगितले. So the rope was cut and the bell sank into the sea. त्यामुळे दोर कापली गेली आणि बेल समुद्रात बुडाली. The pirate sailed away laughing. समुद्री डाकू हसत निघून गेला. He was glad at the thought of ships hitting that rock and going down. जहाजे त्या खडकावर आदळतील आणि खाली जातील या विचाराने त्याला आनंद झाला.

     Months passed. महिने गेले. The pirate happened to sail by the same spot. समुद्री चाच्याने त्याच जागेवरून प्रवास केला. A thick fog lay on the sea. समुद्रावर दाट धुके पसरले होते. Nothing could be seen. काहीच दिसत नव्हते. The ship was steadily moving towards the rock. जहाज स्थिर खडकाच्या दिशेने जात होते. As there was no bell now to warn it off, it dashed against the rock with full force. जहाजाला सावध करण्यासाठी आता तेथे कोणतीही घंटा नसल्याने ती पूर्ण ताकदीने खडकावर धडकली.                Immediately it was wrecked and the pirate and his men were drowned. ताबडतोब ते उद्ध्वस्त झाले आणि समुद्री डाकू आणि त्याचे लोक बुडाले.

     The pirate remembered the old bell as he sank and realized the truth of the saying: बुडताना चोरट्याला जुनी घंटा आठवली आणि त्याला या म्हणीचे सत्य कळले: "As you sow, so shall you reap." "तुम्ही जसे पेरता तसे तुम्ही उगवाल."
