Sub: Complaint about a damaged book.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your V.P.P. I received it this morning.

I regret to inform you that the book 'The Wise and Otherwise' by Sudha Murty does not appear to be a brand-new copy. It is a shop-soiled copy in a damaged condition. Half of its back cover is torn, and Pages 40 to 45 are missing. The copy is not useful to me.

I have no doubt it got into the parcel through some oversight. I am returning the book to you via registered book-post. Kindly replace it with a new copy at your earliest.

Enclosed with this letter are photographs of the damaged book and a copy of the purchase receipt for your reference. I trust that you will take the necessary steps to address this issue promptly.

Your cooperation and understanding in this matter are greatly appreciated.Thank you for your attention to this concern. I look forward to your response.

Yours faithfully,

         XYZ
