THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA

"The Princess and the Pea" is a classic fairy tale that revolves around a prince searching for a true princess to marry. The story goes like this:

The Princess and the Pea

     Once upon a time, in a kingdom far away, there lived a prince who wanted to find a real princess to marry. He traveled to different lands, meeting many princesses, but none seemed quite right. One stormy night, a young woman knocked on the castle's door, claiming to be a princess seeking shelter from the rain.
     The queen, intrigued but wanting to test her authenticity, devised a plan. She ordered the servants to place a single pea on the bed and then layered it with twenty soft mattresses and twenty feather beds. If the girl could feel the pea through all those layers, she would truly be a princess.
     The next morning, the guest complained of a terrible night's sleep, claiming she had felt something hard in the bed. The prince and queen rejoiced, for only a true princess could have such delicate sensitivity. The prince married the girl, and they lived happily ever after, proving that sometimes, true royalty lies in the heart.
     This story teaches us that outward appearances can be deceiving and that true nobility is found in qualities like sensitivity, kindness, and authenticity.
