A BUS RIDE CONVERSATION 

In a crowded bus on a hot summer day, two passengers start discussing the increasing heat and its causes. Their conversation highlights the environmental issues caused by human activities.

First passenger: How terrible this heat is!किती भयंकर उकाडा आहे हा!

Second passenger: Terrible, terrible! And the month of April-May is yet to come.
भयंकर, भयंकर! आणि एप्रिल-मेचा महिना अजून यायचाच आहे.

First passenger: It was said on TV yesterday that it will be hot for a few more days.
काल टीव्हीवर सांगितले की, अजून काही दिवस उकाडा राहणार आहे.

Second passenger: Oh my god! The cycle of nature has turned upside down!
बापरे! निसर्गाचे चक्रच पूर्णपणे विस्कळीत झाले आहे!

First passenger: Shall I tell you? Nature is not responsible for this. We are responsible.
मी तुला सांगू? याला निसर्ग जबाबदार नाही, आपणच जबाबदार आहोत.

Second passenger: Yes, I know that. We cut trees on a large scale.

First passenger: Right. But that is not the only reason. We build cement concrete buildings. Open spaces around them disappear. Roads are covered with asphalt or cement concrete.

त्यातच घरात एसी लावले जातात. गाड्यांमध्ये एसी असतो. लाखो गाड्या आहेत. एसीमुळे तापमान वाढते, आणि गाड्यांनी उत्सर्जित केलेल्या वायूमुळेही उष्णता वाढते.

Second passenger: These are atrocities on nature. Humans must stop all this. Otherwise, we will have to endure the punishment given by nature, won’t we?
हे निसर्गावर होणारे अत्याचार आहेत. माणसाने हे सगळे थांबवले पाहिजे. नाहीतर आपल्याला निसर्गाकडून मिळणारे फटकारे सहन करावे लागतील, नाही का!

First passenger: Absolutely, you are right. We need to act responsibly before it’s too late.
अगदी बरोबर बोललात बघा. आपण उशीर होण्यापूर्वी जबाबदारीने वागायला हवे.
