Hello students! Today, we are going to learn about Indicative Mood in English.
What is Indicative Mood?
When we tell a fact, describe an event, or express a truth, we use the Indicative Mood. This is the most common type of sentence in English.
Now, let’s understand with examples.

Example 1:

I wake up at 6 a.m. every day.
🔹 मी दररोज सकाळी ६ वाजता उठतो/उठते.
✅ Look at this sentence. It tells about something that happens daily.
✅ This is a habit or routine.
✅ It is in the Present Simple Tense because it happens regularly.

Example 2:
She likes to read books.
🔹 तिला पुस्तके वाचायला आवडतात.
✅ This sentence tells us about someone’s preference (what she likes).
✅ It is also in Present Simple Tense because likes do not change quickly.

Example 3:

They are playing in the park.
🔹 ते उद्यानात खेळत आहेत.
✅ This sentence shows an action happening right now.
✅ It is in the Present Continuous Tense (helping verb ‘are’ + ‘-ing’ form).

Example 4:
The sun rises in the east.
🔹 सूर्य पूर्वेला उगवतो.
✅ This is a universal truth – it is always true.
✅ Such sentences are always in Present Simple Tense.

Example 5:

He went to the market yesterday.

🔹 तो काल बाजारात गेला होता.

✅ This sentence tells us about something that happened in the past.
✅ It is in Past Simple Tense (verb ‘went’).


Example 6:
We will visit grandma next week.

🔹 आम्ही पुढच्या आठवड्यात आजीला भेटायला जाणार आहोत.
✅ This sentence talks about a future plan.
✅ It is in Future Simple Tense (‘will visit’).
