OUR SOCIETY PICNIC

 

              Last Sunday our society arranged a picnic to Matheran. गेल्या रविवारी आमच्या सोसायटीने माथेरानला सहल आयोजित केली होती. About seventy members joined it. सुमारे सत्तर सदस्य त्यात सामील झाले. We went there by train. आम्ही तिथे ट्रेनने गेलो.

           Matheran is a beautiful tourist resort. माथेरान हे एक सुंदर पर्यटन स्थळ आहे. The journey to Matheran itself is very interesting. माथेरानचाच प्रवास खूप रंजक आहे. From Neral there is train journey to Matheran. नेरळहून माथेरानला जाण्यासाठी रेल्वे प्रवास आहे. But instead of train we walked the distance to enjoy the hilly region. पण ट्रेनऐवजी आम्ही डोंगराळ प्रदेशाचा आनंद घेण्यासाठी तितके अंतर चाललो. On the way to Matheran we saw many different kinds of birds, trees, some wild animals and enjoyed the beauty of nature. माथेरानच्या वाटेवर आम्ही विविध प्रकारचे पक्षी, झाडे, काही वन्य प्राणी पाहिले आणि निसर्ग सौंदर्याचा आनंद लुटला. It is two hours journey from Neral. नेरळपासून दोन तासांचा प्रवास आहे.

            We stayed in three bungalows at Matheran. माथेरानला आम्ही तीन बंगल्यात राहिलो. We had rented it for three days. आम्ही ते तीन दिवसांसाठी भाड्याने घेतले होते. We started hiking all over Matheran from the very next day. दुसर्‍याच दिवसापासून आम्ही संपूर्ण माथेरान फिरायला सुरुवात केली. We saw many interesting places such as the Echo Point, the Charlotte Lake, the Monkey Point, etc. आम्ही इको पॉइंट, शार्लोट लेक, मंकी पॉइंट इत्यादी अनेक मनोरंजक ठिकाणे पाहिली. We saw monkeys on trees and even on roads. आम्ही झाडांवर आणि अगदी रस्त्यावरही माकडे पाहिली. The birds sang beautiful tunes. पक्ष्यांनी सुंदर सूरात गायले.

             Matheran is a cool, hilly place. माथेरान हे थंड, डोंगराळ ठिकाण आहे. The weather is charming. तेथील हवामान मोहक आहे. We visited beautiful parks there. आम्ही तिथल्या सुंदर उद्यानांना भेट दिली. Many tourists and school students were there. अनेक पर्यटक आणि शालेय विद्यार्थी तिथे होते. Rickshaws and horses are the means used for transport. रिक्षा आणि घोडे हे वाहतुकीसाठी वापरली जाणारी साधने आहेत. I rode on a horse. मी घोड्यावर स्वार झालो. It was a thrilling experience. तो एक थरारक अनुभव होता. We had a lot of fun during our stay at Matheran. माथेरानच्या मुक्कामात आम्ही खूप मजा केली.

             We left the picnic spot by the train to Neral and from there to Mumbai. पिकनिक स्पॉटवरून ट्रेनने नेरळ आणि तेथून मुंबईला निघालो. The trip to Matheran refreshed us all. माथेरानच्या सहलीने आम्हा सर्वांना ताजेतवाने केले. We returned home happily. आम्ही आनंदाने घरी परतलो.
