INFORMAL LETTER - INFORMING YOUR FATHER ABOUT YOUR FIRST SEMESTER EXAM RESULT

A letter to your father informing him about your first semester exam result.

तुमच्या पहिल्या सत्र परीक्षेच्या निकालाची माहिती देणारे तुमच्या वडिलांना पत्र.

Your performance at the first semester exam held by your school was unsatisfactory.  तुमच्या शाळेने घेतलेल्या पहिल्या सत्राच्या परीक्षेत तुमची कामगिरी असमाधानकारक होती.  

Write a letter to your father, who is out of India, explaining the reason for the same. 

भारताबाहेर असलेल्या तुमच्या वडिलांना पत्र लिहा, त्यामागचे कारण स्पष्ट करा.

Dear Father,

     I am ashamed to tell you that my performance at the first semester Examination was pretty unsatisfactory. मला तुम्हाला सांगायला लाज वाटते की पहिल्या सत्राच्या परीक्षेत माझी कामगिरी खूपच असमाधानकारक होती. I have failed in all subjects. मी सर्व विषयात नापास झाले आहे.

     I know this will depress you a lot. मला माहित आहे की हे तुम्हाला खूप निराश करेल. The reason why I have fared so poorly is my overconfidence. माझी कामगिरी इतकी खराब असण्याचे कारण म्हणजे माझा अतिआत्मविश्वास. Even while attempting the paper, I was over- confident. It was only when the teacher returned my paper after correction that I realised how careless I had been. तपासल्यानंतर शिक्षकांनी माझा पेपर परत केला तेव्हाच मला कळले की मी किती बेफिकीर होतो. I am guilty of having committed silly spelling errors, hasty calculaions and shoddy work in general. मूर्खपणाने केलेल्या स्पेलिंगच्या चुका, घाईघाईने केलेली आकडेमोड आणि सर्वसाधारणपणे निकृष्ट काम केल्याबद्दल मी दोषी आहे.

    All this has come as a tremendous shock to me. या सगळ्याचा माझ्यासाठी जबरदस्त धक्का बसला आहे. For one thing I am determined that there shall be no repeat performance of this kind. एक तर मी निर्धार केला आहे की अशा प्रकारची पुनरावृत्ती होणार नाही. I know you will be very upset. मला माहित आहे की तुम्ही खूप अस्वस्थ व्हाल. Please forgive me this time. कृपया यावेळी मला क्षमा करा. I assure you that, I will study hard. मी तुम्हाला खात्री देते की, मी मनापासून अभ्यास करेन. I shall never let you down again. मी तुम्हाला पुन्हा कधीही निराश करणार नाही.
