FRAMING WH-TYPE QUESTIONS - 1

A Wh-type question begins with a 'Wh- word' and seeks some information.

Wh-प्रकारचा प्रश्न Wh- शब्दाने सुरू होतो आणि काही माहिती शोधतो. 

The chief 'Wh-words' are - What काय, Who कोण, Which कोणता, कोणती, कोणते, Whose कोणाचे कोणाची, कोणाचे, Whom कोणाला, Where कोठे, When केव्हा, Why का,  How कसे.

How is considered as a Wh- word even though it does not begin with the letters 'Wh'. How हे 'Wh' अक्षरांनी सुरू होत नसतानाही Wh- शब्द  मानला जातो.

Framing Wh-type questions - Wh-प्रकारचे प्रश्न तयार करणे

You can frame Wh-type question by starting the sentence with a Wh-word, followed by an auxiliary (helper verb) and then the subject and then the rest of the sentence वाक्याची सुरुवात Wh-शब्दाने करून, त्यानंतर सहाय्यक क्रियापद आणि नंतर कर्ता आणि नंतर उर्वरित वाक्य असल्यास तुम्ही Wh-प्रकार प्रश्न तयार करू शकता.

Wh- word + Auxiliary Verb सहाय्यक क्रियापद + Subject कर्ता + Rest of the sentence + ?

Examples:

 1. What is your name? तुझे नाव काय आहे?

 2. Who is your best friend? तुझा सर्वात चांगला मित्र कोण आहे?

 3. Which is your umbrella? तुझी छत्री कोणती आहे?

 4. Whose mobile is this? हा कोणाचा मोबाईल आहे?

 5. Whom are you calling? तू कोणाला बोलावत आहेस?

 6. Where did she buy notebooks? तिने वह्या कुठे विकत घेतल्या?

 7. When did he sleep? तो केव्हा झोपला?

 8. Why do you come here? तू इथे का येतोस?

 9. How do you go to school? तू शाळेत कसा जातोस?

10. How much petrol is there in the car? कार मध्ये किती पेट्रोल आहे?

11. How far is the railway station from here? रेल्वे स्टेशन इथून किती दूर आहे?

12. How long is this rope? ही दोरी किती लांब आहे?
