COUNTABLE AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS

A countable noun is one that can be counted.

It is also known as a Count Noun.

A countable noun always has a plural form.

Examples :

🎯 (one) boy, (one) girl,

🎯 (a) boy, (a) girl

🎯 (the second race)

🎯 (a few birds)

2. An Uncountable noun is one that cannot be counted.

It is also known as a Non-count noun.

An uncountable noun cannot be used in the plural.

Examples :

🎯 (some) oil

🎯 (much) noise

🎯 (the) grass

🎯 (little) truth

3. Many nouns can be used as countable or uncountable nouns, depending on the meaning that is conveyed.

Examples :

🎯 This airline has many flights to Delhi. (flights - countable)

🎯 The flight of the birds at this time of the month is unusual. (flight - uncountable)

🎯 I have to climb a flight of steps. (flight - countable)

🎯 We lost interest in the movie towards the end. ( interest - uncountable)

🎯 One of his interests is old coins collected. (interests - countable)

🎯 Games - cricket, hockey, chess, kabaddi, football
