WHAT NOT TO ASK IN AN INTERVIEW

1. Double- barrelled questions should not be asked because they confuse an interview. Example - Do you think you should have gone Himachal Pardesh and that you deserved better training facilities there? - Ask not two but one question at a time.

2. Vague questions such as Why don't you tell us a little about those days of training and hardships? The interviewee might say too much or too little in response to such vague undirected questions. Ask better questions instead - How did the training that you received in ABC coaching camp help you to play the game better?

3. Based questions that are slanted towards an opinion ought not to be asked. Example - "Don't you think, as a star football player, you should have busted this racket by letting the media know about it?" An interviewer must stay neutral and not try to influence an interviewee to answer what the interviewer wants him/her to answer.

4. Irrelevant personal questions that are unconnected to the topic of discussion cannot be asked. They take the focus of the interview away from its main objective.
