A VISIT TO A TEMPLE

     One morning I went to the Kunkeshwar Temple with my parents. एके दिवशी सकाळी मी आई-वडिलांसोबत कुणकेश्वर मंदिरात गेलो. We had to climb up twenty steps. आम्हाला वीस पायऱ्या चढून वर जायचे होते. Some beggars were sitting on both the sides of the steps. पायऱ्यांच्या दोन्ही बाजूला काही भिकारी बसले होते. My mother gave them fruits and sweets. माझ्या आईने त्यांना फळे आणि मिठाई दिली. They gave us their blessings. त्यांनी आम्हाला आशीर्वाद दिला. We took off our sandals at the entrance to the left side of the Temple. मंदिराच्या डाव्या बाजूच्या प्रवेशद्वारावर आम्ही आमच्या चपला काढल्या.

     Granny bought six coconuts and flowers from a vendor outside the temple. आजीने मंदिराबाहेरील एका विक्रेत्याकडून सहा नारळ आणि फुले विकत घेतली. Then we went through a small crowd and got inside the temple. मग आम्ही थोड्या गर्दीतून आत गेलो आणि मंदिरात प्रवेश केला. The atmosphere inside the temple was lovely. मंदिरातील वातावरण रम्य होते. Wicks were burning brightly before the idol of Shiva. शिवाच्या मूर्तीसमोर वाती प्रखरपणे जळत होत्या.

     We lighted ghee lamps in front of the Ganesha idol. आम्ही गणेशमूर्तीसमोर तुपाचे दिवे लावले. Heaps of fragrant white flowers and around the Shiva pindi were most impressive. शिवपिंडीच्या आजूबाजूला पांढऱ्या शुभ्र फुलांचे ढीग अतिशय मनमोहक होते. We bowed our heads to it. त्यावर आम्ही नमन केले. Granny offered the coconuts and flowers through the priest. आजीने पुजार्‍यामार्फत नारळ आणि फुले अर्पण केली. She gave the priest sweets and Rs.1000. तिने पुजाऱ्याला मिठाई आणि 1000 रुपये दिले. My mother and granny reverently prostrated themselves before the god. माझी आई आणि आजीने देवासमोर श्रद्धेने साष्टांग नमस्कार केला. Then we said our prayers, bowed once more and rang the bell loudly. मग आम्ही आमची प्रार्थना केली, पुन्हा एकदा नमस्कार केला आणि जोरात बेल वाजवली. Then we came out of the crowd of devotees. मग आम्ही भक्तांच्या गर्दीतून बाहेर आलो. Then we went around the temple eleven times. मग आम्ही अकरा वेळा मंदिराला प्रदक्षिणा घातली. My father donated Rs.10,000 to the temple as a help for needy and deserved students of the village. माझ्या वडिलांनी गावातील गरजू आणि पात्र विद्यार्थ्यांना मदत करण्यासाठी मंदिराला 10,000 रुपये दान केले. Then my younger brother, Chintu bought some toys from a shop outside the temple. मग माझा धाकटा भाऊ चिंटूने मंदिराबाहेरील एका दुकानातून काही खेळणी विकत घेतली. Then we strolled on the beach. मग आम्ही समुद्रकिनारी फिरलो. We played on the seashore.आम्ही समुद्रकिनारी खेळलो. We had misal pav in a restaurant. आम्ही उपाहारगृहामध्ये मिसळ पाव खाल्ला.

     I experienced great peace of mind after our Kunkeshwar visit. कुणकेश्वरला गेल्यावर मला मनःशांती मिळाली.
