A VISIT TO AN ADIVASI VILLAGE

 

     This Diwali, my father decided to take us an Adivasi Warli pada located in Raigad district. या दिवाळीत माझ्या वडिलांनी रायगड जिल्ह्यातील आदिवासी वारली पाड्यावर आम्हाला घेवून जायचे ठरवले. We travelled by our car and then walked through a dense forest surrounding the village. आम्ही आमच्या गाडीने प्रवास केला आणि मग गावाभोवती असलेल्या घनदाट जंगलातून फिरत गेलो. We reached there at 9 am. सकाळी ९ वाजता आम्ही तिथे पोहोचलो. Adivasi women greeted us on the way. आदिवासीं महिलांनी वाटेत आमचे स्वागत केले. In the beginning, we did not understand what they were speaking because their language, though it resembled Marathi, was somewhat different. सुरुवातीला ते काय बोलत होते ते आम्हाला समजले नाही कारण त्यांची भाषा जरी मराठीसारखी असली तरी काहीशी वेगळी होती. We were enchanted by the scenic surroundings and the fascinating land. निसर्गरम्य परिसर आणि विलोभनीय भूमी पाहून आम्ही मंत्रमुग्ध झालो. The Mukhiya welcomed us. मुखियाने आमचे स्वागत केले. My mother offered them sweets and shawls. माझ्या आईने त्यांना मिठाई आणि शाली दिल्या. We had breakfast at his house. आम्ही त्यांच्या घरी नाश्ता केला. The Mukhiya of the village accompanied us everywhere. गावातल्या मुखियाने आम्हाला सगळीकडे सोबत केली. We enjoyed their traditional songs and dances. आम्ही त्यांच्या पारंपरिक गाण्यांचा आणि नृत्यांचा आनंद घेतला. My father donated twenty five thousand rupees for the needy and deserving students. माझ्या वडिलांनी गरजू आणि पात्र विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी पंचवीस हजार रुपये दान केले. The Adivasis are very simple people who know very few things about the modern ways of life. आदिवासी हे अत्यंत साधे लोक आहेत ज्यांना आधुनिक जीवनशैलीबद्दल फार कमी गोष्टी माहित आहेत. He showed us their traditional weapons. त्यांनी आम्हाला त्यांची पारंपारिक शस्त्रे दाखवली. They are stuck to their old customs and costumes. ते त्यांच्या जुन्या चालीरीती आणि पोशाखांना चिकटून आहेत. They have their food from animals, roots and trees. त्यांना त्यांचे अन्न प्राणी, मुळे आणि झाडांपासून मिळते. We had delicious lunch together. आम्ही एकत्र स्वादिष्ट जेवण केले. They decorate the walls of their houses with drawings of different signs and figures. ते त्यांच्या घराच्या भिंती वेगवेगळ्या चिन्हे आणि आकृत्यांच्या रेखाचित्रांनी सजवतात. They are honest. ते प्रामाणिक आहेत. The poor Adivasis are very hospitable. गरीब आदिवासी खूप आदरातिथ्य करतात. They have preserved old values of their society. त्यांनी आपल्या समाजातील जुनी मूल्ये जपली आहेत. We bought fresh vegetables from them. आम्ही त्यांच्याकडून ताज्या भाज्या विकत घेतल्या. We returned home by 10 pm. आम्ही रात्री 10 पर्यंत घरी पोचलो.
