THE SHADOW OF THE BANYAN TREE 

     In a small village in Tamil Nadu, a legend surrounded an ancient banyan tree that stood at the edge of the village. Elders warned that anyone who ventured near the tree at midnight would encounter a shadowy figure that could grant wishes—but at a terrible price. One night, driven by desperation, Ritesh, a young man struggling with financial troubles, decided to test the legend. He approached the tree under the cover of darkness, making a wish for wealth and prosperity.
     As the clock struck midnight, a dark shadow emerged from the tree, taking the form of a tall, ominous figure. It granted Ritesh’s wish with a chilling promise that he would see his fortune change. The next day, Ritesh found a large sum of money in an envelope at his doorstep.
     However, as his wealth grew, so did a series of tragic events—his family faced accidents, his friends betrayed him, and his happiness turned to misery. In the end, Ritesh realized too late that the shadow had exacted a dreadful toll for his wish, leaving him alone and broken, with nothing but the cursed tree as a reminder of his greed.
