The Clever Rabbit

This is a story from the jungle. ही जंगलातील एक गोष्ट आहे. It tells us how a small and clever rabbit saves all the animals from a dangerous lion.
ही गोष्ट सांगते की एक लहानसा आणि शहाणा ससा कसा सगळ्या प्राण्यांना धोकादायक सिंहापासून वाचवतो.

Story:
     Once upon a time in a big jungle, there lived a cruel lion. एकदा एका मोठ्या जंगलात एक क्रूर सिंह राहत होता. He used to kill many animals every day.
तो रोज खूप प्राण्यांना मारत असे. All the animals were scared. सगळे प्राणी खूप घाबरले होते.
     They decided to send one animal to the lion every day, so he would not kill many. त्यांनी ठरवलं की दररोज एक प्राणी सिंहाकडे पाठवायचा, म्हणजे तो इतर प्राणी मारणार नाही.
     One day, it was the rabbit’s turn. एक दिवस सश्याची पाळी आली. He was clever. तो खूप शहाणा होता. He walked slowly and reached late.
तो हळूहळू चालला आणि उशिरा पोहोचला. The lion was angry. सिंह खूप रागावला. The rabbit said, “I met another lion who said he is the king!”
सशाने सांगितलं, "मला दुसरा एक सिंह भेटला, तो म्हणाला की तोच राजा आहे!" The lion became furious and asked to be taken to the other lion. सिंह खूप संतापला आणि त्या दुसऱ्या सिंहाकडे ने म्हणून सांगितलं.
     The rabbit took him to a deep well and showed him his own reflection. सशाने त्याला एका खोल विहिरीजवळ नेलं आणि त्याला त्याचं प्रतिबिंब दाखवलं. The lion thought it was the other lion and jumped into the well to fight. सिंहाला वाटलं तो दुसरा सिंह आहे आणि तो लढायला विहिरीत उडी मारून दिली. He drowned.
तो बुडून गेला.
     All the animals were happy and thanked the clever rabbit. सगळे प्राणी आनंदी झाले आणि शहाण्या सशाचे आभार मानले.
