The Lazy Lion – आळशी सिंह

     Once in a big forest, there lived a lazy lion named Lalu. एका मोठ्या जंगलात लालू नावाचा एक आळशी सिंह राहत होता. He was so lazy, he didn’t even want to hunt. तो इतका आळशी होता की त्याला शिकार करायलाही कंटाळा यायचा.
     One day, a rabbit passed by. एके दिवशी एक ससा त्याच्या समोरून गेला. Lalu: “Hey! Come here. Be my lunch.” लालू: “ए! इथे ये. माझं जेवण हो.” Rabbit laughed and said, “Why don’t you come and catch me?” ससा हसून म्हणाला, “तूच ये आणि मला पकड ना!” Lalu yawned and said, “Too much work... never mind.” लालू जांभई देत म्हणाला, “खूप कष्ट आहेत... राहू दे.” The rabbit ran away laughing, and Lalu went back to sleep. ससा हसतहसत पळून गेला, आणि लालू परत झोपायला गेला.
     That day, even the ants teased the lion.
त्या दिवशी तर मुंग्यांनीही सिंहाची थट्टा केली.
Ant: “King of the jungle? More like king of naps!” मुंगी: “जंगलाचा राजा? झोपेचा राजा म्हण!”
The next day, Lalu the lion was feeling very hungry. दुसऱ्या दिवशी सिंह लालूला खूप भूक लागली होती. He waited and waited, but no animal came near him. तो वाट पाहत बसला, पण कोणताही प्राणी त्याच्याजवळ आला नाही. He shouted, “Is anyone out there? I’m hungry!” तो ओरडला, “कोणी आहे का बाहेर? मला भूक लागली आहे!” A monkey from a tree replied, “Order online, Lalu!” एका झाडावरून माकडाने उत्तर दिलं, “ऑनलाइन ऑर्डर कर लालू!”
Lalu growled, “I don’t have a phone!”
लालू गुरगुरला, “माझ्याकडे फोन नाहीये!” The monkey laughed and said, “Then walk and hunt like old times!” माकड हसून म्हणालं, “मग जुन्या काळासारखं चाल आणि शिकार कर!” Lalu sighed, “Too far… I’ll just eat leaves.” लालूने सुस्कारा टाकला, “खूप लांब आहे... मी पानंच खाईन.” He tried a leaf and made a face. त्याने एक पान चाखलं आणि चेहरा वाकवला. “Yuck! I’m not a giraffe!” he grumbled. “अगं बाई! मी जिराफ नाहीये!” तो कुरकुरला.
     Finally, he decided to get up and hunt.
शेवटी त्याने ठरवलं – आता उठून शिकार करायची. But as soon as he stood up, it started raining. पण तोच तो उभा राहिला आणि पाऊस सुरू झाला. Lalu smiled and said, “Thank you, rain! Nap time again!” लालू हसून म्हणाला, “धन्यवाद पावसा! पुन्हा झोपायची वेळ आली!” And he went right back to sleep under a tree. आणि तो परत झाडाखाली झोपायला गेला.
