In your pre-primary classes, you must have learnt the story of The Lion and the Mouse. तुम्ही पूर्वप्राथमिक वर्गात सिंह आणि उंदीर ही गोष्ट शिकला आहात.  Let’s move to Activity. चला, आता कृती २ कडे वळूया.

2. Read the story in English and fill in the gaps using the words given in the box. गोष्ट इंग्रजीत वाचा आणि चौकटीत दिलेल्या शब्दांचा वापर करून रिकाम्या जागा भरा.

How to Fill in the Blanks (रिकाम्या जागा कशा भरायच्या?)
First, read the words given in the box carefully. प्रथम, चौकटीत दिलेले शब्द काळजीपूर्वक वाचा.
Then, try to understand the meaning of each word to choose the correct word for each blank. त्यानंतर, प्रत्येक शब्दाचा अर्थ समजून घेऊन प्रत्येक रिकाम्या जागेसाठी योग्य शब्द निवडण्याचा प्रयत्न करा.
Next, read the story sentence by sentence and try to understand what is happening in the story. त्यानंतर, गोष्ट वाक्यावाक्याने वाचा आणि गोष्टीत काय घडत आहे हे समजून घेण्याचा प्रयत्न करा.
Choose the most suitable word from the box and fill in each blank according to the meaning of the sentence. वाक्याचा अर्थ लक्षात घेऊन चौकटीतील सर्वात योग्य शब्द निवडा आणि प्रत्येक रिकामी जागा भरा.
Finally, read the complete story again to check whether the words fit correctly and the story makes sense. शेवटी, शब्द योग्य ठिकाणी बसले आहेत का आणि गोष्ट अर्थपूर्ण झाली आहे का हे तपासण्यासाठी संपूर्ण गोष्ट पुन्हा वाचा.

Solved Activity
     A lion was sleeping in a forest. A mouse started playing on him. The lion got up angrily. He caught the mouse and was ready to kill it.
The mouse begged the lion to leave it and said that someday it would help the lion. The lion laughed and let it go.
     One day, the lion was caught in a net set up by hunters. He roared loudly as he tried too hard to escape.
     The mouse heard the lion and came. It chewed up the net with its sharp teeth and set the lion free.

Moral of the story: Kindness is never wasted. Even a small friend can be a great help.
