REPORT WRITING - DERAILMENT NEAR KALYAN JUNCTION

October 18 :

     A devastating rail mishap took place near the Kalyan signal yesterday. काल कल्याण सिग्नलजवळ भीषण रेल्वे अपघात झाला. About 9 p.m., a fast local train running at full speed derailed a few kilometres ahead of the signal. रात्री ९ च्या सुमारास सिग्नलच्या काही किलोमीटर पुढे पूर्ण वेगाने धावणारी एक जलद लोकल ट्रेन रुळावरून घसरली. It had jolted along some distance before coming to the next station. पुढच्या स्टेशनवर येण्याआधी तिला काही अंतरावर जोराचा धक्का बसला होता. Timely action by the motorman Mr. S. P. Tari and his presence of mind prevented a greater loss of life and property. मोटरमन श्री. एस. पी. तारी यांनी वेळीच केलेल्या कारवाईमुळे आणि त्यांच्या प्रसंगावधानाने मोठी जीवित आणि मालमत्तेची हानी टळली. The chief casualties were those who, in panic, jumped off  the running train. ज्यांनी घाबरून धावत्या ट्रेनमधून उडी मारली ते मुख्य बळी होते. The mishap left 50 passengers injured, many of them seriously. या अपघातात 50 प्रवासी जखमी झाले असून त्यापैकी अनेकांची प्रकृती गंभीर आहे.

     The police were informed of the accident. पोलिसांना अपघाताची माहिती देण्यात आली. Bystanders and other road travellers rushed to the aid of the injured. जखमींच्या मदतीसाठी रस्त्यावरील प्रवासी आणि इतर प्रवासी धावले. People of the locality rushed to the site and joined the relief operators. परिसरातील नागरिकांनी घटनास्थळी धाव घेतली आणि मदतकार्यात सहभागी झाले. All the injured were rushed to the Railway Hospital nearby. सर्व जखमींना जवळच्या रेल्वे रुग्णालयात दाखल करण्यात आले.
